Spinning around the kitchen floor Yellow lights through windows pour I could go on for days Watching light move across your face Coffee brews, the kettle screams Grace is in our simplicity You cast me a long look Beckon me close as you put down your book It's a softly swooning world These are the days to remember It's a softly swooning world That goes on forever Life is long, life is grand Down country roads you take my hand We talk for hours but I can't recall Having to say a word at all Twilight comes heady and low You're asleep in moonlight and shadow The longest lashes on heavy lids Eternity's made of days like this It's a softly swooning world These are the days to remember It's a softly swooning world That goes on forever

Amor Fati 03:54
Don't take your eyes from me This moment, alchemy Chaos goes quiet how Did I live before now? I'm falling slowly to you Down we're going I feel it start to fall away No stopping this runaway train Let the night come to me Sweet darkness, all consuming Signals flash from the shore Can't hear them anymore I'm falling slowly to you Down we're going I feel it start to fall away No stopping this runaway train All of my roads lead back to you Somehow I always knew Whispers in the wind murmur to me Amor Fati I feel it start to fall away No stopping this runaway train I feel it start to fall away Amor Fati

In the early morning You can find her there When the wind is blowing Flowers in her hair The one you thought you lost The one who haunts your dreams The one who whispers in your sleep The lady in the moon She will come back for you She will come back for you The lady in the moon Faded pictures folded In the back of jeans Always on your body Close to mystery The sun is shining bright But still you long for night Waiting for silver to fill your room The lady in the moon She will come back for you She will come back for you

Rain washed air Twilight coming sweet and low Lilac bloom Intoxicating scent as the wind blows Whisps of hair Tickling her face, her fingers smooth Down her dress Because she knows that he'll be coming soon And tonight feels like the movies Something incredible brewing Anticipation so sweet and true Lover, she's waiting for you Reckless spring Exploding into color, into sound As he moves He barely feels his feet upon the ground Her perfect lips He can feel the warmth beneath his skin Hands in his pockets So she won't notice the trembling And tonight feels like the movies Something incredible brewing Anticipation so sweet and true Lover, she's waiting for you

Nocturne 03:05
I think of you often Especially at night When the sun's going down And it's too dark to write Body's in motion Somewhere out of time The center it pulls Us in a dance divine There's nothing to do now But wait for the stars A time that I love A time that is ours There's some kind of sweetness In this solitude I'm wide as the sky And still as the moon Edges dissolving Like honey in wine Distance means nothing Between you and I Here we exist Between shadow and soul Never is spoken But always is known Come here my slow muse This is a softly swooning world Come here my slow muse This is a softly swooning world

about

These are songs meant to serve as reminders, for myself, as much as anyone who happens to listen... a reminder, that there is beauty in the world, and it is all around, and yes, it is so easy to forget this and be lost in the chaos of life, but when you get in the right headspace, when you hear the right song, that opens up the right space, (which i've been told this EP does) it can put you there, in a very good place, just left of all the worry and trouble you feel. You remember there is much good love out there… It reminds you of the importance of attending to and noticing the small miracles of the day; the curve of a lover's lip, the shadows of twilight, the riotous explosion of color and sound of spring, the coolness and infinity of a night sky. It's an 18 minute love song to the universe, and all things cosmic and lush and sweet and aching. A dance, and a flirtation… the world is worth a long, lingering glance over the shoulder. It is swooning, if you look at it with the right glasses on…
Enjoy xoxo

"If you're in love, have ever been in love, hope to someday be in love, or have heard of love, Samantha Farrell's new EP, Softly Swooning World, was written with you in mind. With her latest release, Sam somehow manages to beautifully, concisely, and thoroughly encapsulate one of the more elusive emotions, without ever veering into cheesy or trite territory.
Every lyric and note of this album serves a purpose and creates a mood that, in the end, amounts to a sweepingly gorgeous, moving, and authentic tribute to love.
Listening to Softly Swooning World is like wrapping yourself up in a cocoon; it is, in the truest sense of the word, transportive. Get ready to swoon."
- Nikki Van Noy, Author/Weekly DaveSpeak

“Softly Swooning World is indeed the most exciting collection of songs I've heard in a long time. Samantha Farrell is an artist that deserves to be heard by a major audience.”
- Jeff Labes, Arranger/Pianist for Van Morrison, Bonnie Raitt
